Our recent stay with Luxury Villas on Crete at Villa Aquarius near Sisi can only be described as immaculate, seamless, breath-taking, and idyllic - from the moment we arrived until the last few minutes before our flight home took off. We have been vacationing in villas since 2003 with most of our time between Italy, Spain, Greece, and France.  We have seen what villa vacations have grown to be, but nothing prepared us for our amazing time in Crete. Luxury Villas on Crete was a gem amidst a sea of rental agencies, which were more numerous than usual given it was Crete, a more popular destination it seems.  Audrey and Eva, from the first email, were a fantastic source of options and ideas for our trip to Crete. They were always timely, thorough, and absolutely complete in managing every detail of the booking. Audrey had the depth and resourcefulness to book us or to connect us with everything from the rental car (best experience we’ve had with a rental car company and at an excellent rate) to a private sailing yacht tour of Dia.  She truly takes luxury to heart and was attentive during our entire stay in Sisi. Now, the real highlight of the stay was the immaculate villa!  This was by far the most beautiful and complete villa we have ever had the opportunity to stay at.  The villa was brand new, and we were the first guests.  As two families of 4 with children ages 5 to 8, we needed space, integrated services, and a beautiful pool.  This villa had all this and more. The villa’s setting was a huge gated area with a list of amenities: covered car park, grassed play area, large heated infinity pool, complete bar/BBQ area, outdoor eating area, full stone fire pit for evening retreats, and orchard, and finally its own custom chicken coop at the bottom of the garden that was the children’s favourite spot to head to every morning to check for eggs for their breakfast.  The villa was tastefully decorated in a modern and fresh style with clean lines and a balanced integration of what is truly Cretan and what is luxury villa.  The interior was absolutely amazing with fully appointed bedrooms (beds were excellent), comfortable common rooms, and simply flawless bathrooms.  The kitchen was exceptional with all the modern tools and equipment that I can even admit that I don't have at home.  Essentially, the interior of the villa integrated every detail that makes a stay complete and fully modern - without compromise.  In addition, the exterior dealt with the emerging offerings expected of luxury stays - the infinity pool, the exceptional grounds, the integrated eating spaces, and added the emerging components of organic and local produce grown on site. We sampled so many things as a family, the beach within walking distance, the in-villa meal preparation by the Cretan Miracle (exceptional and the subject of a separate review), the brilliant tourist attractions, and even the day sail to Dia.  There was nothing left to chance or not perfectly organized.  Audrey's service coupled with what can only be described as setting the bar for luxury villa offerings in Villa Aquarius made for a holiday that we will never forget - and a first that we will return to in the years to come. As a small footnote, the children were so taken by the chance to have a pool that was safe, warm and welcoming, an adventure through the orchard every morning to see how many eggs they could find, and finally the evening chance for a bit of Netflix in their beds that they have asked not if but when we will be back. Simply put the villa was perfect!
